Unfortunately yes, but not as much as getting a tattoo

One session usually takes about 20 min
How many sessions will I need?
This again depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo, but if you want full removal it will most likely be at least 3.
How long must I wait between sessions?
At minimum 2 weeks, this is to prevent ink poisoning. If it is only one area that is being treated repeatedly, then the minimum is 4 weeks so the skin can fully recover as well.
Will I have a scar?
Scarring is possible, but rare
Is there any risk of infection?
Yes, although it is very low, especially if the aftercare plan is followed properly.
Can I expose the tattoo to the sun after treatment?
After treatment, it is best to keep the area covered, including from the sun. If this is not possible, then a high SPF sunscreen is required.
How long after a session must I wait before I can go in the shower or go swimming?
For showering there is no wait time, but swimming will depend on if there have been any complications in the removal procedure.
